A Lancet is a surgical knife, so they could have used surgical quality steel.
Also, right in the center of the inside of the lid, it says "Surgically Ground".

That would make the most sense to me.
Surgical steel today refers to stainless steels which really did not make an appearance in cutlery till post WWI as far as I have read.
Then there is the connection between barbers and surgeons as in barber surgeons but they had disappeared by the time these razors were made from what I have read.
The use of the words "surgical steel", "surgical grind" and "lancet" would all seem to allude to the high quality of the razors. The razors are that for sure.
