Thanked: 14Arnold's Lancet
I like this pair of razors. They are made in Sheffield, not Germany but I don't care. Both look like they have never been used. They even have Ivory scales (yes, I know how to test).
I haven't found any others like them lately but I checked a few years ago and seem to remember them not selling for very much.
What do you think?

Thanked: 3226What do I think? You have a very fine pair of razors likely made by Arthur Arnold around the turn of the 20th Century and sold from his shop at 61a Piccadilly London England. They are in all respects definitely not inferior to anything made in Solingen.

Thanked: 2They are gorgeous! I have the same pair, though the case that came with mine is water damaged and the hinge is broken.
This is the first time I've seen another like them, and was actually thinking about selling them last week.Last edited by Texstar; 07-21-2017 at 09:29 PM. Reason: Spelling

Thanked: 4827I have a soft spot for boxed pairs and ivory scales, so you are two bigeye catchers for me. I do not understand why but boxed pairs do not seem very popular in the market place. I think the market place is crazy.

I agree with everything above.
I'd love to have a boxed pair that was in as great shape as those are. You two lucky, that's for sureLook sharp and smell nice for the ladies.~~~Benz

Thanked: 14With all the positive feedback I thought it was time to give them a try. All I did was give one a few strokes on my Swaty and then the strop block. I must say, the shave feels just as effortless as my Wonderedge.
I had planned to sell these off but not now. These beauties are going straight into my rotation. Thanks everyone.

Beautiful razors. I am curious as to why they are etched 'Surgical' ? At first I thought perhaps they might be a microtome profile, but then remembered that the old Mappin Brothers 'Lancet' was a hollow grind. Still wonder why the surgical etch. Guess I'll never know.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I too love boxed sets. It great that you have both razors and the original box. Nice one for a display cabinet.
It's just Sharpening, right?
