Very nice find. I don't think the tang is the only thing that is ivory on that razor. A bit of work and she should make a good shaver.

I'm with BobH.
Its a piece of crap, you should send it to me for proper disposal, immediately. [emoji56]
Does anybody know the approx value?
I'm thinking of doing something like this:

but don't want to reduce the value if its worth a bunch
thanks again
Nice W&B, swifty. We don't do valuations here but you can look on ebay to see what similar ones go for.
Thinking of doing what? Putting bolsters on the scales like the Real Red Point razor shown? I would not do that. Your W&B with the scales and matching covered tang is a very cool razor and has a certain look with the collarless pins and everything. If it were mine I would not mess with it much at all. The blade is in good condition with hardly any wear too, that's nice!
If you are concerned about possible issues with the scales (like the hairline cracks or what to do about the wedge end wrapped in wire), someone with more experience with that material will probably be along here soon. What's the back side scale look like?
Great razor, thanks for sharing.
That's a wonderful razor I would certainly leave it as is. Clean it up but don't change a thing. I would say in this case you would devalue if changing.
I'd guess very late 1890s early 1900s. Beautiful razor.
i have heard this before! And I did try to find something similar on eBay but had no luck, if anybody could link something like this ad very much appreciate it.
here is the other side of the scales:

I believe those are repairable, Sharpton and outback I believe have done this type of work. Hopefully they may be able to guide you.
