This one came today and to my surprise it's mostly dirt and a very little surface rust. no pitting at all. as soon as I have it cleaned up and polished some I'll post a photo of it. the edge looks as if it has not seen a hone since it was made.

I wanted to say that it needs a good bath and scrubb...and even if itbhas some pitting there are a few guys arround that do outstanding regrinds...
The razor is top knotch...you will love it....I had one a few years ago.
I have seen a couple of his chimes. FUN. But when I look at them from a couple of feet away I think that I have at least made useful not necessarily restored the equivalent to most of them........
But then again I looked at Charlies reject box and thought that I would be happy to make most of those!

I may have do this again. I tried to attach 2 photos of the razor front and back after a little cleaning and polishing. lets see if it worked.
Looking good. It is way nicer than the pictures had implied
I just spotted this thread, and was about to post "I bet it cleans up a lot nicer than you think!" but I read to the end.... Super Sweet!
Congrats on a score!
I did work on it more today and it did clean up and polish up a lot nicer than the last photos of it. I also hone using the 1-3-5-8 and 12K naniwa Super Stones and finished with the 20K Suehiro. Strapped and shaved with it and it did do a very fine job on a 2 day beard. This one goes in the keeper pile.
