Yesterday i got my hair cut at a different place than standard. I was talking to the barber who owned the shop. A guy of about 30. Told him about my razor hobby and he pulled out a little box of junk as he called it. A few razor parts to us. I told him it wasnt worth much but a few pieces could be used if he wanted to try restoring. He said he was going to glue them to a board and hang on the wall.

Today as i was getting ready for work i went thru my razors looking for something to trade him. I found a Willian A. Shul, 9/16, plastic scales that i had won on ebay for 1.25 & 3.50 shipping. I had cleaned it up, repinned and honned it. Nothing special but a nice little shaver I had less than 5 bucks into. I put it in an old coffin and took it to him on the way to work. He was happy to make the trade for a useable razor. He was happy and so was I. No loss on either part.

So here is the mess i traded for. 3 blades worth restoring and 3 set of scales that could be reused. The rest is trash but im happy with the deal...

Moral of the story is to go see a different barber now and then. You never know what he might be hiding in a drawer.
