    Default some new stuff

On Monday I went and hung out with VintageSmurf, who only lives about a 20 minute drive away, as it turns out. I came home with a new SR, DE and stone. The SR (a Burrell Top Flight) needs a bit of a honing, the DE (Gillette adjustable, haven't looked into the exact model yet) just needs some soap & water, and the stone needs to be flattened.

    Thanks VintageSmurf!

Nice haul! Is that a thuringian stone?

I'm not sure, but I have my suspicions! I will clean off the dried slurry and post pics when I have time, maybe on Monday. I'd sure like to find out!

As for the DE, it turns out it's a 1958 Gillette Executive Adjustable, aka Executive Fatboy.

Love the patina, on the Top Flight. Good shavers.

I agree, they look great. I can't wait to shave with it!

Nice haul. I am not a DE user but some of them make for beautiful display pieces.

Nice! Top-flights are amazing shavers. The cheap scales always need to go, IMO.
The DE looks choice and the stone is intriguing. With no oil on it, I think a good sign?

I've recently come to accept the fact that I won't always have the time for a SR shave, so I've been using DEs more than in the past. As a result, I've suddenly picked up a bunch of new DEs, I'm not exactly sure how that happened..... I've got some old Rotbarts in the mail coming from Theoman, they should be in my mailbox any day now.
