I've been wanting to try a kamisori for a while. I managed to get this for a very nice price on the bay. Can't wait to shave with it!

I have a few but the only one I’ve actually used is the one I got from Tom. The other two need to be hone, I suppose I should get to them some day. I like the shave, it is also my go to when I shave the engineers head at work.
ENJOY!
They are so simply elegant, careful as they are also quite addictive :p
I recently started using them and now own two. They are nice shavers. Just learn the angles. A picture of the other side would be nice if you get to it. Thats where it shows the most wear.
Dig it Joel.
Here you go:

Wickedly sharp razors that can provide an extremely close shave.
how do you guys store these things? It's not as easy as a folding SR.
This thing is kind of fun.

I shaved with it this morning. It's not exactly the same but also wicked sharp. I too have still not figured out how to store it. I've been just wrapping it loosely in a paper towel. I think it was jerry who made a cover for one. It's in the what are you working on thread. Was that you Jerry or am I thinking of someone else?
I use a drawer as with all my razors. Just got to be careful. I thought about making a box to hole them. You can find lots of examples on line.
I've never used one, but asymmetrical angles aside, I think of them the same way that I think of knives. Fixed blades are arguably better, but folders are just way more practical. Personally, I always close the razor to set it down. I suppose one could just set the kamisori on the counter or a washcloth, but it would feel weird to me.
Of course, none of my kitchen knives are folders, so there is that.
I’m thinking I need some kind of sheath for it. At the moment I’m just using some cardboard, but I’ll keep my eyes open for something nicer.
Thanks! I had scrolled through earlier, but there are so many posts it was a little overwhelming. That's an interesting idea.
I also found this thread, which has another example that's quite nice: https://sharprazorpalace.com/custom-...rotection.html
That's a great idea. I might try making one of those out of that ancient southern live oak
