Nice find! I remember when TI was selling these old stock Le Grelots. They were quite hyped on the shaving forums. I had a few, and they were great shavers.
Enjoy it in good health.
I enjoy using mine, although it's in cheap plastic scales and not as attractive as yours. It's one of my favorite razor size and shape, and it does take a very nice edge. Congratulations.
Very cool. It's great to find one you've been looking for. Congratulations and I hope it meets your expectations.
Hi Paul ~
Thank you so much. I had been searching for 6 years.
This blade far exceeded my expectations. I will be doing some den clearing followed by more searching :o
I had an early Hart 1/4 hollow that this one is reminiscent of in terms of shave feel. I'm definitely going to be looking for more 1/4 hollows to play with from now on.
I really like that grind. I have a Respect Cutlery diamond steel that's that same round toed, shoulderless sort of humpback shape and I love the way that thing shaves. It's very ergonomic....
Ah hell, here's a picture:

Sorry wasn't trying to hijack. I'm glad you're enjoying it. Ain't RAD great?!?!
If you like that blade profile, the Puma #69 may interest you, I believe it comes in both 5/8 and 6/8.
Thank you very much. I will take a look at those Pumas.
With the LG it’s the 1/4 grind that I really like first. Then the hard French steel 2nd. It honed beautifully and I think it will keep an edge going for a while. I’d just assume have a Spanish point ~ Blade profile is maybe 3rd or 4th on the list but the paddle style is growing on me after the 2nd shave today. It’s very easy to maneuver. The thumb notch is really nice too. I don’t a razor with one that pronounced.
Thank you for the suggestion. I will follow up and see if they made a 1/4 grind and what kind of steel they were into.
The puma 69 is a quarter hollow grind.
Here's one to consider then.

1/4-1/2 hollow. Closer to 1/4 I think.

Nice buffalo horn scales in good condition.

A fair amount different from the Le Grelot but it checks most of the boxes you mentioned. Sheffield steel though, some of which is soft compared to most American steel. Not really familiar with french steel though.
