    Default Le Grelot

Found a razor I have always wanted after years of searching. It was worth the wait. Le Grelot 1/4 hollow, historic steel, shoulder-less. Shaves like a dream. Scales are Cedar.

Nice find! I remember when TI was selling these old stock Le Grelots. They were quite hyped on the shaving forums. I had a few, and they were great shavers.

    Enjoy it in good health.

Thank you so much. I will buy another when I find one. For my beard and face it shaves like a dream and takes a great edge off the JNats. I'm still pinching myself that I found one new in the box.

    Cheers,

I enjoy using mine, although it's in cheap plastic scales and not as attractive as yours. It's one of my favorite razor size and shape, and it does take a very nice edge. Congratulations.

Thank you Richard. The scales are a bit light for the weight of the blade which surprised me when I first picked it up. I think they are Cedar. The balance is decent when shaving though.

    Hi Paul ~

Thank you so much. I had been searching for 6 years.

This blade far exceeded my expectations. I will be doing some den clearing followed by more searching

I had an early Hart 1/4 hollow that this one is reminiscent of in terms of shave feel. I'm definitely going to be looking for more 1/4 hollows to play with from now on.
    Cheers,

    Nicholas ~

I really like that grind. I have a Respect Cutlery diamond steel that's that same round toed, shoulderless sort of humpback shape and I love the way that thing shaves. It's very ergonomic....

    Hey Paul,

I appreciate the comments and the picture. This razor is a game changer. I am on the hunt for more 1/4 hollows. Thank you for pointing out a brand I was not familiar with.

If you like that blade profile, the Puma #69 may interest you, I believe it comes in both 5/8 and 6/8.
