Latest purchase: Herder

My latest purchase: RICH.ABR. HERDER.
I have never seen the plastic on the blade, and I like the details and shape of it.
It feels nice in my hand, but unfortunately it can't be used without restoration.
The bushing inside the handle spacing the center pin is corroded, and there is little play in the blade, risking damage of the edge when folding.
Although I have never restored a razor, this might be my first attempt

Can anybody tell me more details about this item, like age, history, etc?

Can't tell you much about the history, but Herder is a very respected name in Solingen. I personally have a vintage 6/8 Richard Herder and it is one of my best shavers! The one in your picture looks very nice and should give you fantastic shaves after restoration! Congratulations and good luck!

Nice etching on the blade face. I know he made lots of daggers and bayonets during WWII. Might have been conscripted like a lot of other companies were. Here's a little information.

Richard Herder was registered in Solingen in 1925 as an "open razor maker"

There is also a Carl, Daniel, Friedr and Robert Herder that made razors.
Not sure if they were related or not.
