I saw this and was oddly drawn to it. And every Boker I’ve had has been a great shaver.

That's a wicked looking point, looks like a hybrid spike x French/irish point.
It looks like it’s almost a spike, but not quite there. A few trips around the hone and it could easily be there though.
Nice looking razor. I like that finish.
Man. I cannot understand how modern razor configurations have evolved. I suppose a painted or blued blade is different.
Most old names brought back to life disappoint me, no matter the product.
Odd man out, but it seems typical and pre-frowned from the maker. To me, Boker was never the 'end-all' even back in the day.
I doubt these are as well.
JMO.
And there you have it! The outsized scales seem typical as well. The bevel is waving like flag in the wind? TBH, likely IS Dovo?
Vintage makers knew. I officially digress......:beer1:
Your right! Either like or don't. I don't. Looks pretty hokey to me! I'll stick with the old stuff.
Oh I am happy for you, don't get me wrong. I got some glasses,
Where IS that Boker factory? Has someone bought the name? Cranked her back-up did they? Made where?
I suppose it's just me.
Just expressing my opinion. Have fun.

Not to be argumentative, just informational.
I emailed Boker when I brought my one, all straights are manufactured in house, Solingen.
Heinr. Böker Baumwerk GmbH
Schützenstr. 30
42659 Solingen, Germany
They don't use blanks everything is done from start to finish. I have just the one modern Boker so that obviously makes me an authority on them :) To me they're leaps and bounds ahead of Dovo and Thiers Issard. Fit and finish is excellent.
I only have vintage Bökers but all of mine are upper end ones (a couple of complex grinds and a 7 day set in ivory) so I'm not sure that's a fair cross section. Still all of mine are scorchers with beautiful craftsmanship.
Have no complaints on vintage or modern.
Wedge or full hollow.
I went here....https://www.bokerusa.com/razors?p=1. Some of them look nice. Expensive! I know their razor production had ceased.
When makers names come up again on straight razors, it makes me wonder what is bridging the gap between the old quality and the new production?
I do have an old Inox Arbolito which is thinly ground and very good.
IIRC, Boker was the first Solingen firm to set up shop in the U.S.. I never thought those compared favorably.
I have had several old Bokers. Their grinds did not impress me as much as lots of other makes. Mostly utilitarian IMO. The ones which had the scalloped spine that everyone was enamored with were really off with me. like a very small wedge with bling on top. Passed that one along. The Red Injuns were good. Still have one of those.
Giesen and Forsthoff comes to mind. Did not take long to sort those new ones. Herder knives are now made in Malaysia yet marked Solingen (where the HQ is).
A. Sanelli sells some nice knives now made in Asia. HQ in Premana. Italian.
Mostly I don't see a huge market. Globalism in manufacturing is a fact in the knife industry now. What's in a name?
My original point is....
I can see the OP's pics show a frowning blade. Don't need a microscope to see that from across the road.
Does it look wicked.....Yes! Reminds of some of the custom makers we were flooded with a while back. Totally straight (or frowning) edge and sharp, pointy heels and toes.
Not much of that going any more.
I may like trying their more conventional offerings, but at that price, I likely never will.
Carry on!
I've had some very good Bokers and some not so very good Bokers.
Some are just too thin with very low angle (vintage)so need tape to keep the edge from failing.
Have an Arbolito that won't hold and edge and a "finest grade" and an Edelweis that are spectacular.
Yes. The Edelweiss! Forgot I have an old one in pearl scales. Very good blade.
Well, I do study this stuff. Sometimes it's hard to believe what I see in modern things with old names. Esp as they don't look anything like the original products.
Did not intend to ruffle feathers.
The originals need no examples? Otay! ;)
Here....Just saw this. Looks like they are cranking out Cattaraugus and Case razors. In Solingen? Sacrilidge I would opine. They have the pics where you cannot show them.
Not a live auction, but a BIN....... Item 285815392608 on the fleabay
I saw this on FB first and honestly I kinda like it :)
I am weird that way I like a lot of the Blued razors from back in the day too
I have always like Spikey points too..
You Would! Bet you could sort it right quick! :roflmao
Man Paul. You soo cool! Living on the edge! :rofl2: What a guy!
Black Demon is a sharp square point like a Red Imp or a ....Spike!
Let's extend that out like a French point which has been ground perfectly straight. Hone it flat, spending twice as much time on the center getting to the ends.
Custom. frowned, Black and Wicked! Go ahead. I prefer a more comfortable tool personally.
We are too far apart here. Nobody seems capable of getting my 'point' . Everyone go out and get one. Adios!
Someone once said a straight edge is next thing to a frown.
Okay...
This one is a Noonan. Actually it has a slight smile.

It needs a re-black but it's in excellent condition.
HAR! Paul, no frown but someone has rounded your tip! :rofl2:
I know My experience pales to that of you experts.
I just see what I see. Set the edge on the back of your DMT and see the light under the edge.

I named this one as well....Look at what happened if you like.

You fellas are always right. My observations will no longer be forthcoming.
