no matter how sharp you get a wapi it will never give as smooth or close a shave as a well balanced high end razor like this one.
This razor looks like a true masterpiece of form and function.

There really is no comparison to a Wapi... if you look at a wapi under the same scrutiny, you will be very disappointed. It can be challenging getting a bevel on a Wapi let alone getting it sharp. most have some warping in the blades...
If you want to try for that type of smoothness in your Wapi, try stropping it on newspaper... about 100 passes.

With this razor being the CPM134, it should easily hold it's edge for far longer than any Wapi will.

And I agree don't nick that edge, you couldn't pay me to try to hone a chip out of that thing...

I'm afraid you aren't going to be happy with most production razors now that you've experienced such a nice custom. It's a bad situation to be in, and i'm envious.

That is a thing of beauty.

The talent/artistry some possess is amazing.

A thumb notch AND jimps? Be still my beating heart! That's what I'm talking about! That is a work of art, an amazingly well designed precision tool and did I say a work of art?

Thank you for posting your review.

Wow. That razor actually stirs up emotion much like seeing an amazing painting from a master painter.

To really appreciate Joe's work, you have to try to duplicate his feats. Just try getting a mirror polish on a piece of steel hardened to 62 or 63 HRC. Just try it once.

His grinding is amazing and his fit and finish are impeccable.

    Joe, keep raising that bar.
