    Default W&B Meat Chopper. Awesome!

I had a banner day antiquing (See my Coticule combo thread in Show and Tell as well).

Anytime I see the old razor coffin cases, I know there is a good chance of something interesting resting in peace inside! I open this one up though and, WOW!

This one is an 8/8 as sure as the day is long (It looked to me trying to measure it that it was a tad bigger).

The edge is great with only one micro-nick that almost needs magnification to see. 1/4" thick spine, original matching coffin. Horn scales with not a nip on them. I like the squared end on the scales.

I haven't decided on the plans for this one yet.

    1) Try to restore is as best as can possibly be done without drilling out pins, basically clean it up in its original state.

    2) Complete cleaning/restore and re-pin.

    3) Other (similar but new custom scales, etc).

The right place at the right time I guess. I also got two nice Bengalls I'll post pics on later, a Thuringian stone with matching slurry stone, an ancient J.A. Henckels large wedge with horn scales, the combo coticule
Ah yes, a banner day to remember.

    Chris,

I have had a difficult time PM ing you.

I would like a Belgium Blue Slurry stone. Is this possible? If so, let me know what you need to get this going.

    Thanks,

    Steve Boyd

Nice snag! I vote for restoring it with as much original as possible; I'd also say no need to mirror polish the blade either.

Those scales look like they might polish up nicely as well, I say go for all original...
