    Talking My First Straight

    Good afternoon Gents and Ladies

Spike got me my first straight for my birthday yesterday (haven't managed to snap a decent pic with the camera phone mutant yet), it had a pink ribbon with "Babys first" printed on it too!

As I am slightly hungover today I am waiting for tomorrow and a clearer head before I use it for the first time (before you say it, yes I know, strop, strop, strop!) What I can tell you is it came from Invisible Edge (thank you Steve) and it's a Bauer Pippin.

It is 4/8 half hollow, very light, gorgeous tortoiseshell effect scales with white metal decoration at both ends. Hopefully I'll be able to snap a decent pic to post soon.

Sounds great - can't wait for the review! And evidently you had a good birthday, too

    Hey there Silver!

And happy birthday! (Slight delay, I know...)
Steven's razors are - from my experience, at least... - always tip top razors. BUT... he sais on the site that the razors are shave-ready and require no stropping before the first use. After that, sure... strop, strop, stropity-strop... I did what he tells on the site (2 weeks ago and this very morning...) and I must say that the edge was in top shape, no stropping required. He sais it clearly on the website.

Well... my 2 cents of brain stuff! Good shaving!

Great razor Silver and Spike! I actualy was looking to buy that one myself... Glad to know that I got my RAD under control and that it is in safe hands! Very nice razor indeed. I guess you'll end up borrowing it for your own purposes, Spike!

Nice one! Let us know how you like it. Remember that a straight has a more aggressive feel than you might be used to. It might take a few go rounds before your skin is used to it.

I was allowed to look at Steve's site once before my birthday so I didn't get chance to read the additional info. Now the ban is lifted I'll tail over there to read up, thanks.

Thank you, glad there are no hard feelings. Spike keeps asking me what I'm going to name it and I'm not sure yet. Pippin would be the obvious choice, thus having a Lord Of The Rings link. But it is also stamped San Francisco which leads me in a Charmed direction.

    Decisions, decisions..........
