    Talking Kansas Kamisori!

    Wow.

Back in June I had communicated with Russel Baldridge about a new design take on the Japanese style straight razor that he had already begun creating.

I got all excited and sent him some SolidWorks files I made of my proposed design:

    Well, today it finally arrived!

Looks much like the design rendering, with one HUGE exception----the hamon!

The finish on the razor is satin, except for the blade hollow where the hamon line is. This portion is mirror finished, and stunning!

Razor has a nice heft to it, feels great to hold.

I have not yet shaved with it (as luck would have it I just had a fantastic BBS shave this morning with one of my other razors, so the maiden voyage will have to wait a couple of days...).

My compliments to Russel on his fine workmanship I'm looking forward to my first shave!

Some pics, including a comparrison shot with a Tosuke.

Actually that is exactly what I had been thinking prior to Russel first posting his pics of the Japanese styled razors he had started making. I had been having a discussion with another member (Pudu) about the possibilities of creating such a razor (Pudu is actually the one who coined the term "Rusuke" ). When Russel posted his pics of his symmetrical Japanese style razor it all fell into place.
