Wow.
Back in June I had communicated with Russel Baldridge about a new design take on the Japanese style straight razor that he had already begun creating.
I got all excited and sent him some SolidWorks files I made of my proposed design:
Well, today it finally arrived!
Looks much like the design rendering, with one HUGE exception----the hamon!
The finish on the razor is satin, except for the blade hollow where the hamon line is. This portion is mirror finished, and stunning!
Razor has a nice heft to it, feels great to hold.
I have not yet shaved with it (as luck would have it I just had a fantastic BBS shave this morning with one of my other razors, so the maiden voyage will have to wait a couple of days...).
My compliments to Russel on his fine workmanship
I'm looking forward to my first shave!

Actually that is exactly what I had been thinking prior to Russel first posting his pics of the Japanese styled razors he had started making. I had been having a discussion with another member (Pudu) about the possibilities of creating such a razor (Pudu is actually the one who coined the term "Rusuke" Originally Posted by nun2sharp
). When Russel posted his pics of his symmetrical Japanese style razor it all fell into place.
