Default Nice Thuringian in Box eBay find

    Hey all,

So I got this a few weeks ago. It's a dark thuringian stone (kind of a dark green), and with a nice label on the front of the box, and a complete perfect paper label on the inside of the box lid.

The stone was originally glueto the bottom of the box....and I wanted nothing to do with that! So I research on SRP, and I came across a thread about getting a hone out of the glued box. So I soaked it in some hot water, and the stone eventually came off of the wood, but the bottom of the box came apart in the process.

So after I let it dry, I re-glued the box together, sanded it down a little bit (because the hot water striped the finish off of the bottom), and put on a light finish so the bottom would match the top. I even put a little crazy glue around the loose hinge to secure it to the box. It worked out wonderfully! The box looks great now (with a little damage to the very bottom, but I don't worry about that ) and it's a great show piece for the stone.

I also lapped the stone on all of the surfaces (to make it pretty), and it works wonderfully as I've tried it on a razor already.

Here ya go, hope you enjoy the pics.
