That is one beautiful razor. I love the lines and heft of the tang. +1 for a light polish, it'd be a shame to damage the etching.

Conrad and Roberts was a hardware and cutlery store circa 1845.
Not sure when this was made.
Artist: W. H. Rease; printed by Wagner & McGuigan, ca. 1845. He painted a lithograph for the company.
One lucky guy to have that razor. I've been wanting an 8/8 W&B for a while.
You can polish it but please be careful that etching is too good to lose.

What is MAAS and is it used for removing pits or polishing the blade?
If you have an old blade like with etching in it or gold on it will polishing the blade remove the etching or gold plating?
