I've got a 7/8 Filarmonica which is actually about 15/16 and it's almost too big for me. I don't think I'll ever be truly comfortable with the really big blades, but you never know. :D

This is my largest razor. W&B "For Barbers Use", 9/8.
My biggest so far is a Johann Breidohr "3 crosses" 8/8. (Actually just over 31/32 tbh.)
It hasn't quashed my yearning for a proper meat chopper though.

Just scored this one! It's 9/8 BIG.:D
Al, that thing's going to give you a real workout when you shave...Your fingers are going to fall off! :rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:
For those of you who are still looking for a meat chopper: THIS ONE!
My largest is a 8/8 Timor Hamburg Ring and a 7/8 Wade & Butcher, both recently rescaled by gssixgun.(Picture credit goes to Glen) The Wade is my best shaver.

Here is my 8/8 wedge Marshes and Shephard, while not in the class as many here it is my biggest razor. Easaly twice the weight of most of my current blades :p
I'm looking for another heavy blade with a bit more to hold onto :p
I like the way the notches look on that one, does it make it easier to keep a hold of in use?
Red
great blades.Red did max make handles for your blade?Nice once
Yeah bud, that's another victim of Max. he never disappoints. :)

Here's a W&B For Barber's Use that my son and I take pride in. It's an 8/8 and a little smaller than the Hess I posted to this thread earlier. More pics of this blade in the gallery here: http://straightrazorpalace.com/galle...nonfodder.html
Great . did you pinned yourself? why they are different?
Thank you Sham. Yes, we polished up the blade, made the scales and pinned the lot together. The pins are different by design. The larger one on the spacer end is sterling silver. The blade and scales are a bit on the large side and I liked the way this 'washer' looked. Actually it is sold with jewelery making supplies. The washer at the pivot end is a domed stainless steel washer. I decided to go with the smaller washer and not use the jewelery stuff because I though I thought it would make the whole thing look gaudy.
this is not my widest but at 7/8" it is no slouch but it is about 1" longer then any other straight I own

Here's mine, masterfully restored, rescaled and honed shave ready by Glen (gssixgun), John Shaw and Sons 7/8 wedge. I love shaving with this one...

Honing that would be a job for Arnold Schwarzenegger . :) Thank you Thomas for the eye candy. I love the Gotta.
Revisor employs elves at it's factor, just like Santa's workshop.
Those are regular 5/8 and 6/8 blades, it's the little elf hand that's throwing you off....
I have seen couple of them but their weight was 3 kg.
i think it is made for showcase.
Interesting i love to see more.
thank you Revisor for those.
9/8 RW Custom-The "Titan" MOP
Nice old thread. Bump!
I would like to see some more
Obviously not the biggest, but still a handful... it is 2.3cm, which I guess is 7/8 ? Gebr. Christians Solingen... shaves like a dream.
Just a question... I am guessing modern makers make monsters because we find them cool and they probably sell well... why did they make monsters back then?Attachment 103338
I keep expecting Carl to post a pic of his Bowie knife...those Aussies are tough!
Have had larger blades, but the biggest I actually use is a 10/8.Joy to shave with.
