    Default Wostenholm Gentlemen's Favorite

    My recent $10 ebay score:

    (sorry for the junky pic, used the cell phone because I had it shipped to work and now I'm excited)
    Seems to have been rescaled at one point in its life because the toe barely squeezes in to the razor. Now it's on to the flitz and finding some scales before I send it out to get it honed.

    I really need to learn how to hone if I'm going to keep buying razors from the bay and/or antique store.

    Interesting. I've never seen a Wosty pipe with such a blade etch. Hope it shaves well for you.

    I'm excited. It's my two favorite things. A near wedge and a small blade. It doesn't even measure a full half inch wide.
    I've got to remember to get some photos of it when I get home tonight and add it to the database. I also figured out why it doesn't fit in the scales. The wedge is missing. I've got some scrap acrylic at home so I might see if I can just shape it and make it work on the quick and dirty till I get a chance to put it in some more Gentlemanly scales.

    You're right. I've never seen too.
    And I couldn't find such etching in the Wosty catalogs, that I have.
    But I had some W&B blades with such etching.

    The etching is different, but the shoulder is strange as well. What is the width on the blade?

    Yes, the etching is different, W&B slogan is "Gentleman's Favourite".
    Here "Gentlemen's Favorite".
    I've noticed this only now.

    One thing I love about Wosty's is the vast number of different blade etching blades they produced. Probably why they are my favorite sheffield razors.

    Never seen this one before though. Nice score!

    Blade is a hair shy of 4/8ths. I'll try to get some better shots up tomorrow. My son is already in bed and the flashes ate in his room.
