PLanzaSR1957 razor collection - so far
I thought I'd start a thread for my personal collection - being a newbie to the straight razor world.
The three presented are:
Dovo "Bismarck" with gold wash on blade and red plastic handle/scales.
Shumate "Tungsteel" plain blade and black plastic handle/scales
Brummel-Werk plain blade /w/ celluloid "Zebra" handle/scales
Feel free to make a comment or ask questions. I'll tell you what I know.
Cordially,
~Phil

All good shavers you've got there Phil. Those three could last you the rest of your life and be handed down to your progeny, unless you get the RAD and then there is no telling how many you'll end up with. It's a slippery slope.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thank you for the praise, Jimmy. I caught the RAD though!
I'm presently bidding on a few razors now. We'll see what happens in a few days if I am winning bidder. The digital camera is waiting to take pictures to post when I get them.
There was one in particular that I wanted but I think it's a bit pricey. Could you take a look and tell me what you think? Here's the Razor I lost to a high bidder but is still available for a few more days.
HERE
I REALLY like the 7/8 inch Blade and flame scales.
So far I have one 4/8th's, one 5/8th's, and one 6/8th's blades. I want a 7/8th's and a one inch next. Yup! RAD for sure!!!Last edited by PLanzaSr1957; 04-02-2010 at 02:18 PM.

Woo hoo! Super Bismarck. I have a vintage one that is similar, but it is so big and heavy my hand gets tired stropping it. Nice start to a collection.

The NEWest ADDITIONS to my stable of "pedigree's".
I got them BOTH for a good price (separately of course) off eBay and BOTH are in magnificent/excellent condition. The HESS was "shave ready" and the Henckel's looks like it is - but needs a pyramid and some stropping before she's "shave ready".
What's the best way to sterilize them JIC (just in case) they weren't already?
Top = HESS [#1] Hair Milk Laboratories
Bottom = Henckels "Twin Works" /w/ original box
