Found something for $20
I went to one of my antique malls today in hopes of maybe some of the dealers would come down in price on some of the straights.
No one came down on price. However, a new dealer emerged that was relocating from another area to this one.
BLAM-O! The guy had a little over 100 straights in his display case. I offered $200 for the whole lot on the spot but he said "Sorry".
Cherry pick time!
In the lot I found a Joseph & Allen Chinese 7/8 wedge barbers notch. She needs a lot of work but I didn't buy her. He also grabbed one and promptly handed it to me... the scales were black with "Puma" on there but the guy insisted it was a Puma even though the tang said "Merit".
As usual there were a fair share of W&B, a NOS Magnetic complete with case, a Rolls Razor (in fact, he had 3) and a few other DE's. He mentioned I should email him and he'll let me know when he brings MORE from his other shop.
So, I snagged the one I wanted. She still a small crack on the wedge pin, you can see the markings from the manufacturer (grinds) and she still has the coloring on the tang and across the spine.
Not a bad catch if I do say so myself... for $20.
