Theirs Issard 6/8ths "Shoulderless" Le Grelot
Well, I missed out on the "fabled" quarter hollow thumb-notched Le Grelots , so I decided to console myself with a 3/4 to full hollow ground model, as they have gotten good reviews lately.
I'd nearly completed my order with Martin at RasurPur, when he mentioned to me that he had some shoulderless grinds in stock. I love shoulderless razors, and asked him to send me a picture, and the rest was history.
This beauty arrived last weekend, and I had a very nice smooth shave with it. I'm very happy with it.
No thumbnotch, but plenty of jimps - top and bottom make for a secure grip. (Oops - pardon the lint!)
The scales aren't as pretty as these, but they are nice and functional. (That's a beautiful razor, Mbeem - wanna trade scales? )
Here's a good look at the grind.
Thanks for stoppin' by. Hope you enjoyed it!

That's a nice one. I prefer satin finishes like on this razor, I wish you could get the thumbnotched ones in a satin finish.

I love mine too - it needs a touch-up though. The quarter grind is unbeatable for smooth shaves

Thiers-Issard 6/8" Le Grelot
Gentlemen:
No matter in what form, Le Grelot is a fine meat-and-potato razor. Nothing fancy. I have a 1/4 and a 3/4 hollow and love both. There is something to be said for quality.

Obie

Beautiful razor. I'm not normally a fan of the shoulderless grinds. But I would for sure jump at the chance for such a beauty.
