Beautiful razor. Congrats man.
That razor is absolutely beautiful!
Congratulations to you on a mighty fine acquisition!
Honestly, I'm jealous.
Please report back on how that thing performs.
A Damascus hones just like any other razor.
The thing you would want to look out for is how your strops receive it.
Some tends to be hard on strops due to the pattern and the spine.
But that should not put you off, just take extra care when stropping and I'll bet you get the shave of your life from that thing.
Oh, did I mention the jealousy?
Hello, JPM7676:
A straight razor bearing a store of complexities. It is an impressive razor. Congratulations.
Regards,
Obie
She is BEAUTIFUL!
Enjoy the shaves, just be careful not to be staring at the blade so much that you forget where the edge is at all times.
Lu
p.s. As Brinando said, I am jealous.
Hones just the same, but use tape if you don't want to leave a shiny stripe down the spine.
Beautiful razor. Enjoy it!
The same as Ben says, but add tape. It is worth asking Alex (Philadelph) how he honed the razor initially, ie. how many layers of tape, and what stones he used, just to check. I have heard of some using 2-3 layers, so make sure.
Nice blade.
I have two of them, You will not be disappointed. Oh! and don't forget to post here when You received it.... http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...zors-club.html
Amund.
Saw those blades at the Missouri meet-up, they shave and hone-up lousy.
Everyone there thought so. I'll take it off yor hands for the cost of shipping. :deal: :w Cheers:beer2:Great buy
Noticed your a barber. That will be a great business expense for a tax deduction. I was a barber here in New Orleans from 1970 to 1985.
I just sat and looked at it for a couple of minutes-could not stop admiring this beautiful razor. It has a unique style and the blade is very, very fine looking. Congratulations and thanks for posting the pix. I have a Tim Zowada Damascus 7/8 and have had no problems either honing or stropping it. Not much honing needed on Damascus after the initial one, IME.
Razor is amazing! I have been admiring the A. Jacques razors over all the other customs since I signed up on this forum.
I have been conveniently leaving his website and the SRD website up on my computer for my girlfriend to see. My birthday is in October. Leaving obvious clues to what I want. :w
Fingers crossed on my end.........and enjoy that razor. Can't wait to see the vid.
