    That razor is absolutely beautiful!
Congratulations to you on a mighty fine acquisition!
    Honestly, I'm jealous.
Please report back on how that thing performs.
A Damascus hones just like any other razor.
The thing you would want to look out for is how your strops receive it.
Some tends to be hard on strops due to the pattern and the spine.
But that should not put you off, just take extra care when stropping and I'll bet you get the shave of your life from that thing.
Oh, did I mention the jealousy?

    Hello, JPM7676:

A straight razor bearing a store of complexities. It is an impressive razor. Congratulations.

    She is BEAUTIFUL!

Enjoy the shaves, just be careful not to be staring at the blade so much that you forget where the edge is at all times.

p.s. As Brinando said, I am jealous.

Hones just the same, but use tape if you don't want to leave a shiny stripe down the spine.

    Beautiful razor. Enjoy it!

The same as Ben says, but add tape. It is worth asking Alex (Philadelph) how he honed the razor initially, ie. how many layers of tape, and what stones he used, just to check. I have heard of some using 2-3 layers, so make sure.

    Nice blade.
