    Its been a while since I have had a chance to indulge my RAD, but what a way to get back in the swing of things. I found this baby in a antique store expedition. Check out this chopper

    Wow, looks to be in pretty good shape really, for the age...

    Sheffield
    Built the Sheaf Works (first large factory in Sheffield) in 1823-6
    1816 - 1850 ("Old Sheffield Razors" by Lummus. Antiques, December 1922 p.261-267)

    I would guess that is correct for that stub tailed beauty

    Real nice. I love razors like that. If it was me I would paper towel it with semichrome or the equivalent and hone him up.
    Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    A very handsome and very old Greaves-congratulations. If it is not stamped "Sheaf Works" it may be pre-1825.

    Wow! That's a nice razor...shoot, that razor was put together and shipped 30 years before my town was even incorporated
