    Default Spangenberg's Special

I picked this up on EBay a couple weeks ago, just browsing for something different. I saw this little German razor and bought it ok

Gave it just a little TLC, it's a great little shaver -- but the history of the brand is interesting. It turns out that GF Spangenberg owned Tombstone's only gun shop, frequented by the likes of Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, and the Clantons. Spangenberg later turned up in Seattle, where Wyatt had gone after leaving Tombstone. Spangenberg opened Spangenberg's Fine Cutlery and Fishing Tackle.

This is the corner of Second and Cherry, Seattle 1900 -- Supposedly one of the store signs is Spangenberg's. A little more info here: http://content.lib.washington.edu/cg...&CISOMODE=grid

Fun for me to see where a fine vintage razor would have been sold 110 years ago.

One more thing -- that 4/8 Spangenberg shaves like a razor twice its size.
Don't get hung up on hanging hairs.
