i love hitting up new antique shops

so, i went to Blacksburg, VA today and stopped by some antique shops today and found some razors. there are four here is what i found

there will be a post for each set of pictures

the the first is a genco, has #35 on the tang (i paid 13$ for it)

the next, is a Wade and Butcher, made in Sheffield, England has "the Celebrated hollow ground razor" on the blade
The blade looks to be blued, the bluing seems to look like the bluing on a older gun (i have a couple and have handled many)
the scales are obviously redone, they are one solid piece of wood, not 2 separate pieces, it is kind of unique, so i may keep it, if not, i may try to make another like it instead (if i am wrong and some were made like this, please, tell me)
i paid 20$ for it

The next is a CCC brand, or at least that is what is written on the tang, there is nothing else on it, that is all i know about it so far, has 2 different scales on it, paid $20 for this one too


The last is a Wade and Butcher, the scales seem to be horn
i paid 15 for this

Nice finds indeed...now get them soaked in oil to stop what rust is happening! Hopefully the edges are all in good order & the rust isn't deep!

the rust seems to be only surface rust thankfully
they Genco is gonna be my first restoration project
the two wade and butchers will come later
also, i am really curious about the one that seems to have a blued blade, i like how the scale is made, but it is really rough

They are all great; that Wade & Butcher sure has a hardcore set of scales on her.
Honest to God, looks like a nail was used to attach the blade. She definitely needs some love.

i am pretty sure you are right and it is a nail, and i havent decided what i am going to do with it though, i find it very unique like it is, so i was considering just leaving it and cleaning up the blade, and maybe finishing the wood with something, (i was thinking some sort of oil that a lot of people use for finishing bows), nanyw recommendations on the oil if i decide to do this?

both wade a butchers are the first ones that i have gotten, i had never found any others that were in my price range
i just wish i had a way of dating them (is there a way that i dont know about?)
