Thread: Never give up!

I think everone wants an old 8/8 W@B barber's use, whether they admit it or not! They ARE pricy! I know guys who have several, but I had to find a more reasonable avenue. We all have seen those who have custom scaled them and smoothly mirrored them, but I desired an "original" one with some genuine patina with which to shave! I bought these scales with a badly broken blade a few years ago, saved the top collars and waited ....well...patiently. I finally got one with some pitting pounded into some broken bakelite for a "reasonable" price and hand sanded and polished it, leaving some scars. I cleaned and soaked the scales (bottom still pinned) in neatsfoot oil and dryed them. I finally have it all pinned up and honed. I resisted a pin hole bushing, but did relent to thin brass spacers! Shaves wonderfully, Nice and TIGHT! so....don't give up! ...get it on...Tom
