James Johnsons Silversteel Straight Razor
I won this one in London so I'm waiting for it's arrival as well.
I will watch A Clockwork Orange while I wait.
I find it fitting to purchase this type of razor from the "old country"
5/8 th's hollow spine, spike point, no jimps, wedge grind
Horn scales, brass pivot and pin
Blade stained and with localised pitting as in photos. Cutting edge has no nicks or chips, though hasn't seen a honing in some time.
Horn scales clearly old, though unwarped.
c. 1830's - 1840's ?
This might be my oldest razor yet. The style is so sleek. I like the curved/tapered blade action going on. I thought that I would be a 8/8 Wade and Butcher wedge fan for life but I might be changing my ways.
