Over the past 2 yrs. my collection has grown.
The first shots are my current rotation. Row 1 are 25 or so W&B;s, row 4 starts with 11 Ivories ( more in the resto pile) Framebacks, Wosty's, Robesons, DblDucks, and a variety of neat pieces.

These are useable pieces ,which I have done with quite a few, but some I'd like to restore a bit more for the regular rotation.
Interesting pieces are the half dozen F. Reynolds, same for Wosty's etc.

And many, if not most of these are in line for restorations. Sure, some can be used as it,, but I like to have fun with them.

Wow...quite a collection.
Very nice. Thanks for sharing
I wonder how many years worth of daily use you have in that collection.
Holy razors! I really doubt I will ever amass half of that amount. Sweet collection thanks for sharing, how and where to you store all of them?
My current goal is a 365 day set. One per day. Granted, I'll use some more often. I'm not quite there yet but should be soon. And when I do, it doesn't mean I'll stop collecting.
Currently I store them in a drop front secretarial type desk. The upper part houses most of my DE collection which comes close to rivaling this along with the brushes and other memorabilia such as full original cards of razor packs, barbershop signs, etc.
Man, and I thought I had a problem. Hopefully there's still a market for these things when you retire, because there's your retirement fund! Gorgeous, massive collection.
Nope,no problem here. Now I know this is geared towards straights,, but here are some DE's and SE'as well. Interesting pieces are the Fold-a-Brush, the Navy military set. Missing are 3 more Fat Boys, two Slim's, my EJ, and a few others still in the bathroom. Next I'll get to brushes and all the other memorabilia.

No Fusion ProGlides?
wow i hope one day my collection is as grand
No,, just a normal size one. These things stack pretty well.
Gee,, now I'm almost afraid to post my brushes and all the other stuff I have to go along with this.
Seriously though I do plan on building a room to house my collection for display. I'm planning Mahogany cabinetry, glass cases,, and If I can have my way, a barbers chair in the center.
Post away mycarver I was just being sarcastic. I would love to have an old Barber chair myself one day. My father and grandfather both Barbers.
Danger Will Robinson! Overload imminent! Overload... O..v..e..r..l.oooooo....
Where to begin! So much to ponder and so many questions to be asked, I can not even fathom were to begin. Maybe if I spend a few hours digesting your first post, I'd be able to move on to your second and spend at least as much time there. Beautiful collection Mark. Hope to see many, many of them as individual posts for some up close and personal inspection.
Thank you for sharing. What else can I say? You killed the robot and my mind is on it's way to the same fate! :)
Randy
Give me a second here,, I have a bit more to post. Trust me, I'm nearing the end.
Here we go,, some brushes, Not too big on mugs, some stands, blades etc...
And I'm not going to get into the After Shaves , Colognes, Soaps, Balms and new DE blades that I have. That's a pretty good collection in itself. Guessing 60 or so colognes hundreds of blades. I'm sure you get the point seeing my other stuff.

What started all this?
The little 1907 Gillette here which is missing the ball, which was my Grandfathers, then my Fathers, and then mine when I was 14 or so. I can't imagine the history it holds. And then once I read an article on MSN about two years ago saying that the best shave is a DE... Well I though, I have one so I bought some blades,, then bought the EJ.. and the rest is history.

Good God!! That's a very nice collection!!!
I, me, am totally aghast! I feel SOOOO much better! NICE PILE! I LOVE IT! Tom
You've been busy for the last 2 years, nice collection.
I recognize those custom GD's :D
Ok, guys... I think we now know who has been on the other end of all those auctions we lose! :)
Fantastic collection. Thanks for letting us peek.
WOW! and WHEW! Thank you so much for making me feel better! I thought that the 15grand I've spent on my now ending 8month Gillette RAD binge was outrageous, I see I am actually just fine and dandy! Though my SR collection topped 1500 at one time, never did I see so many a Fine Razor Look as Intoxicatingly Beautiful as what you have amassed for your ROTATION! Talk about having a Party On Your Face!! My Goodness! Those ARE Some Fine Razors you got there!!
Those are Awesome, From the Straights to the DEs! Love em All!
Thanks for Sharing! And making me feel that much better!
Man! Eye Candy AND Therapy!
John
Oh my... Now I see what you have been up to for the past 10 years :)
Thanks for sharing ...... when I get as bad as you I'll quit ! ..... :rofl2:
You Sir, are the living embodiment of the reason I cant find any good razors in PA anymore!
I have been loving your work for some time.... I would like to see the shot of the desk as well...
That is impressive. Very nice collection.
Well OK but I'm sure you'll be disappointed. It's not a display piece, just a piece of furniture I have in my shop that holds all my stuff. I'll get a pic tonight for you guys.
Nice collection, it took me nearly 20 years to amass what I have, so you did it in two? I'm starting to thin the herd though....I used to set this stuff up for memory groups when I worked in a nursing home. The residents loved it.
Now I'm just aiming for having a batch of razors in my shave rotation, it's been fun picking and choosing which ones I'm keeping.
Happy collecting and thanks for sharing.
20 yrs ? Wow,, I can 't even imagine this in that time frame. I'll look like the TV show "Hoarders" except I'll be buried in shaving memorabilia.
I don't quite qualify for being a senior citizen but I'm totally crazy about this stuff. The history, the things guys came up with, the design, ,, well ,, ALL OF IT.
Of course with the work I do, and the things I collect, I'm not really suited for this century. Makes sense to me.
See, it's not much but everything I showed , except for the cards of razor blades fits in here and there is room for more. I could fit them in, but I don't want to crease them as some have never been opened as they are counter displays with a cardboard 'wing' on the back. Sorta' like a picture frame.
All the DE's fit in the upper part, the first drawer holds all the razors because i made trays that allow them to stack, brushes in the second drawer and all the rest in the bottom.
It's 4 ft high, 18 " deep, and 28 " wide. My wife found it for 50 bucks , it sat in my shop, so I claimed it. My "photo booth" sits on top of it.

Oh , I'm sure you can easily spend that amount. But if I did, my collection would be at least 5 times the size considering what I've spent. It must be some very special pieces I'm sure. Then too , as I've said, i don't shop ebay nor am I buying custom razors. I look at the bay on occasion and my knees buckle. Almost makes me think I could do OK selling some things. But then I think again.
Added a few more to the collection yesterday,
A T. Hessenbruch, Lee Mfg. Hugo Becher, Electric Cutlery, J.H. Flaggs,Challenge Cutlery Bridgeport,Castle, Worthington by Theo. Kochs,Simmons Hardware, W&B, American Steel, Wostenholm, Imperial, Bohler, no name and a Karl Engles.
The aftershaves were just fun. The large blade display is complete and includes the original packaging, the small pack is missing one, the Burma-Shave was never used. The Gillette mirror is fun as well.

I'm guessing you branched out into safety razors too?
My collecting frenzy was at it's peak probably in the early 90's in my college years, as I would go for long drives and cruise the local antiques and auctions. I think in my case the razors I got the farthest away from Ohio was in Palm Beach Florida, and Franklin, PA.
