Thread: unknown Gillette TTO safety razor-red tip.

I bought this for 5$ at an antique store. being new to straight and safety razors i have no idea what kind of gillette model it is. On the underside upper left it says "REG U.S." with a "D" under it. On the underside upper right it says "PAT. OFF" with a "4" under it. The gillette symbol is on the lower left and "made in USA" on the lower right. Two "+" symbols are in the middle.
On the inside it says "PAT NOS. ON PKG". It has a red tip also, other than that it has no other markings.

From the research i did i think its a Gillette D4 super speed, but like i said i have no idea. Please help me identify this. Year? model? is it a good model? Is it aggressive? From the pictures does it seem to be in good condition or should i have it restored? is it worth getting restored? any info would be appreciated......
