DE Blade Archeology. . .

My house was built in 1949. I didn't buy it until 1989. I've known that there was a cache of spent blades nestled in near the subfloor (where they would fall from the slot in the medicine cabinet in the bathroom), just above our basement laundry room.

I've left them there, as they have never presented a problem.

Now, as I'm acquiring DE razors to go with my straights, I decided to dig most of these blades out. Most of them were single blade injector types, but there were a few DEs.

The dark ones in the pic are Gillette Blue Blades -- I put two there because there are types with two different sets of patent numbers on them.

The other represent the variety of types that I found. Many more injectors than DEs, but still enough to half-fill my tin can blade bank.
