Ok, honest question here: when getting a tatoo, does the guy have to shave the target area? If so, did he use a yellow bic to do it or did you bring your own SR?

Yes they do shave the area as any hair in the tattoo could cause the needle to jump or drive the hair into the skin causing an ingrown hair and potential problems in the quality of the tattoo. As far as the razor used, typically its a yellow Bic because they are cheap enough to use once and throw away. Most tattoo artists arent going to use a straight to shave the area just because if they slip and cut you, the area now has to heal again before it can be tattooed. It just makes more sense to use a cheap throw away Bic.
