sharptonn will be sending his scales and i will be sending my razor to Glen at gemstar tomorrow. so as soon as i have it back, freshly restored, you guys will be the first to know :D
And so a heavy sigh escapes my lips....
I was about to dig up that rotting wombat carcass!
Whew! ................
SHAVE READY! Nice!
Boy, that was quick!
Mick
Scales don't leave until Glenn gets the blade and Jordan has signed the SRP lifetime obligatory contract of shaving with us as his chin sprouts! :) It shall turn out well!
Oh, Jordan! You owe me the Texas Box! :D
ahhh, i'm not sure i can let you have that! ;) as that is also an heirloom.
i can send you a few buckaroos via paypal or something, at least to pay for your shipping cost since youre so generous!
as for the shaving thing, i dont plan on using the dubl duck, but hopefully after i see how that one turns out, i'll get the Texas one restored for use
They razor was possibly imported. I had a German made Black Demon razor with Weichsel's mark on the other side of the tang. T.Noonan & Sons was another importer of the BD razors but they were in Boston. You may find a country of origin stamp once it's cleaned up.
Yep & mine says made in Germany right under that. It's possible yours was made in USA tho.
No Sweat, Jordan. Always Happy to help a new SHAVER. As man of my word, I will send the scales to Glen. However, my generosity shall be tempered in the future here until I see intentions and post counts! ;). People come on this forum every day to learn. Some come with other intentions. This is not the "shadow box" forum, ya know! ;) I am a Mentor here. I am supposed to help new guys and offer advise. I don't think giving things away without that spirit in mind is a requirement. I learn every day! The VERY least you could do is come to Houston and attend our meet on the 3rd of March (link below) and see what this is all about. Otherwise, You owe me nothing!
Tom
Dont give up Tom, he still has yet to show it to his gramps. it will be Gramps decision what happens to it after that!
And if it should show up on Ebay, we will know it, and Jordan will simply have to send you a cut of the profits!
Dubl Duck will arrive at Glen's tomorrow
I've got a bag of donuts that says pawpaw gives in to temptation and shaves with it.
Now now, lets be fair. I didnt have any facial hair to speak of until I was 19 or so.
Check it out guys! I just got the DD back in the mail, Glen did an amazing job! http://i.imgur.com/0ZkTe71.jpg

very nice Jordan. That is an awesome heirloom. Glen, you are the man. This is just another amazing restoration.
Thanks to everyone for all the kind words! I'm pretty lucky to have been there when we cleaned out that old garage... Who knows, this razor could be in a landfill right now if it was my grandpas helper that found that box instead of me :)
Jordan that is so cool!!! What a lovely razor and what a brilliant job Glen did on the restore! Kudos to Sharpton for donating the scales as well they turned out so well - a razor to be cherished (and used if you ask me!) for a long time to come hopefully, enjoy!:D
