Monogrammed English Razor in Ivory
Here's yet another. In from England, the best I can make out on the tang is "Pupley 114 Boro", but I'm not sure. Haven't gotten much chance to really research this one. The scales are near perfect ivory with a monogram, and the blade is unusual in that the tang is recessed in relation to the blade. I've seen a couple of these but this is the first that I've owned.

Thanked: 4249Interesting razor the transition from shank to blade is quite unusual.

I've got a Torrey with a recessed tang like that. Took some getting used to. Funny thing is that it has jimps on top but not underneath. Beautiful piece you have there.

This has jimps but I can't remember offhand if they're on the top as well. It's interesting in that it's only recessed right behind the blade. The tang widens back out after about a cm (there's some hone wear / scratching on that part so looks like someone was a little careless).

Here are couple of photos of my recessed tang Torrey. The only razor I've had with as pronounced a recess, IIRC.
That is a shape 75 Castello Lovat with a 4" shank with the Torrey. One of my favorite pipes.

Here's one I remembered coming across but just found again. A Taylor with the same type of recessed tang:
