Some of you are probably familiar with my affinity for green dyed burls.
I recently received a project to put some scales on a custom knife made from the same material I made some razor scales with.
It turned out pretty good. Ill post up some images later if anyone is interested.
Anyway, I pulled out some more today to do a more rounded monoslab (my previous efforts were blocky, which I likes, but the edges looked a bit harsh for the flowing wood grain)
These images are just a work in progress as they are just the unfinished slab, but the images are after shaping and sanding.
I'm pretty fired up because they already show finger prints and will reflect light glare. I think once I finish them they will be really something. I just cannot decide is I want to simply wax it or put a high gloss coat on it.
After the moisture dried:
