Thanked: 270"Dirty Pool" advertising
I don't mind advertising on this site, but a new kind of advertising has come into vogue recently, and it probably isn't even sold by SRP.
Underneath the SRP logo at the top of the page is a series of pictures that look like still photos from a movie reel. If you look carefully at the top it says "Price Scanner." It is designed to block the choices to enter the forum and involuntarily select the vendor. For instance, there is a picture of a straight razor above the Forum menu item. You click Forum to enter the message board, you are taken instead to the vendor who put up that razor because the ad covers most of the word Forum. I went to the vendor of that razor three times before I CAREFULLY hit the word Forum under that ad. You can eliminate the ad by clicking the X in the upper right hand corner, but before you catch on you don't find it.
Does anybody else find this kind of advertising annoying?

Thanked: 270You're lucky. I just re-entered the site from another tab and got it. I'm using Windows Explorer.
I didn't get the ad using Safari.
I got it using Google Chrome. It said "waiting for superfish.com" and then bloop popped up the serial ad.
I guess the browser is the one imposing these ads on the users. I see them on ebay also.

I'm fortunate, Safari and Firefox here....I don't get those ads.
But they certainly would bother me.....Malo periculosam libertatem quam quietum servitium
