    Question Can username be changed?

I have been a lurker here for a while but never very active. I am getting my first straight very soon and want to be much more active here. The only problem is that on all my other forums I go by a different username and I was hoping to make it more cohesive and change it here. Is there a way to do that? I would really appreciate it!

It is extremely rare to get the powers that be to change a username. In fact it can be a bit risky.

Since you are one post in it would be easier to just create a new user.

    That's actually against the rules.

I would do that but I want to use the same email. I'm fine being deleted and starting over but how?

I actually would love to do the same thing. Not because I'm someone anywhere else but aa1192 is silly and impersonal. I guess just another major mistake at the start of my straight razor career... It's a long list let me tell you.

Put your new name in your sig or the line above the avatar. That will help, I think as long as its not a completely foreign name(anything other than your first and/or last name) otherwise, obviuos confusion would result.

Since you only have two posts I can do it - let me know what you want your username to be. Once people have a lot of posts it is a different proposition because the change would create a lot of confusion as the screen name is the way people know you and the way you've established yourself in the community.

If there is a really good reason we could still do it but I think we've done that only three times in the whole history of SRP, and two of those were for site owners - back when we had a tenth of the current membership Lynn used to go by something completely different

So, aa1192 seems to be out of luck on this one... sorry.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

You could always put your name at the bottom of the posts and it'll become more personal
    Or modify your user title.
    Just an idea.
