Yup, I noticed this too Tom. Not a big deal, but I always liked the anticipation of what someone was going to say, knowing they were viewing a certain page.
If you plan on viewing this page, could you please wave your hand, or call out your name so we know your here please. Thanks. :roflmao:roflmao
It is true. Why yank someone's chain if they are not even present? :rofl2:
Well, we could say something nasty about Ed. He always shows up!!
";"
Anyone want to guess how many more posts need to made to this thread before he shows up? :)
2:30 am in Perth. He'd be just leaving the pub, no? I'll say 6 posts after this one. :)
Come on Ed, don't let me down!!
He may well be lurking now. :lurk: We would never know! :)
I removed it few days ago because I didn't think it's useful enough to add to the server load. If you really want it I can put it back.
Remove Ed's posts and save space that way, Gugi! :rofl2: We miss it!!
(kidding, Ed!)
Dang, I knew I shoulda said 4.
Gawd Tom, are you saying you are a figment of your own imagination. If so, that whole razor collection is all mirrors and smoke.
And I'm talking to the wind.
Oh! Hi Richard. I am back now! Sorta.
Annnd I'm off! Like the wind!
I didn't realize how much I looked at that feature until I didn't have it any longer. I liked it a lot because it made you feel more connected with other members then just tapping on a puter. It puts a more communal feel to the forum, that certainly cannot be a bad thing.
I dug that feature. J.M.H.O. :)
I feel same. I did not realize how much I looked down there for 'interesting' members and friends, of course. ;)
I am not Ed...
I'm Harold, and I am here right this minute, may not be soon.......
but I used to look sometimes and be surprised that I was the only member along with a numbers of guests that were on a particularly interesting thread.
IT'S NOT THERE MAN! ITS NOT ANYWHERE! I DIDN'T LOOK THAT MUCH.... BUT ITS NOT THERE.
gugi, please re-instate the missing items before ed and sharptonn disrupt the entire forum (and I'm not blameless either).
Are you here to kill this thread, Tarkus??
SRP has been quite a bit snappier though. Running it without using my proxy caching server, it's much faster. Distinctly faster without the "Users Watching" feature.
I'm torn. I like the feature alot, but can't argue with load times... Dang, dang, dang!
I made that change (along with some others) around 1am-2am on 8/25, so it's been close to a week. The load on the server hasn't changed much, but there's no way to know that without testing it.

I'm turning it back on and you should let me know if it makes a difference in how fast the site loads (that's different from the load on the server).
If anybody wants to know if a Klingon Delete Ship is hoovering in the area; here's what to look for,,
"There are currently 4 users browsing this thread. (3 members and 1 guests)
