I recently acquired a DD Wonderedge and a DD Lifetime Grim Reaper, both of which could use polishing and honing. How do I locate our members who restore vintage straights? I don't see any ads in the buy/sell section. Thanks.

Hang in there and someone will get back to you. Post photos of blades and scales both sides so they know what the would be working with.
Look in the Vendors Corner
Scroll down a bit and click on Gemstar Razors
Glen is very well known and does all kinds of work.

Here are photos of the Lifetime Grim Reaper needing restoration. Thanks for any advice.
Outback is in Ohio and can work restoration miracles.
Hate to say it but that Wonderedge looks like it could have the beginnings of cell rot. I'm sure someone else will chime in to confirm or tell me I'm wrong. I hope I am wrong for your sake because that is an otherwise beautiful razor.
The Grim Reaper is as rare as hens teeth, great find. I'm sure someone will PM you that is in your area to help.
The "cracked ice" scales on the wonderedge is renowned for cell rot. You could be in luck though as the cell rot I've seen usually goes straight across following the edge of the scales.

Your razors look to be in great shape.
And yes...Outback is the miracle man.

If Outback has the time. Its fall and boats have got to be put away.
Contact Glen as was suggested or just wait a bit. Someone will PM you.
Can confirm that Outback is a miracle worker. You cant go wrong with dropping him a line.
Who ever you go with make sure they don’t screw up that Lifetime, it’s in way better shape than the few I have seen for sale over the years. Neither look to be in too bad a shape. They are already thin so you may need to put up with a little left over pitting, but to my eye most of it will come out.
Gssixgun gemstsar razors, has been doing honing and custom builds and restoration for me almost as long as I’ve been here, tryed several before him so I’m 100% able to recommend. Also as said outback (Mike ) can’t be beat either
I am getting busy with winterizing boats, my thumb is healed enough to take on some cleaning and honing again. So were on.!

Some may remember what happened back in June

Were a marine dealer and service center. I've been a marine tech for about 25 years. I do it all.
Fiberglass and gel coat repairs.
Structural repairs.
Engine repair and diagnostics.
Trailer repair
Vinyl repair.
Ect. Ect.
And he is a professional Coc.... Caulker. :rofl2:
Glad to see the thumb doing well, Mike.
Attachment 338499A quick shout out to Outback who evaluated my razors, and especially to gssixgun, Glen Mercurio who put in a lot of elbow grease to make them usable again. The Wonderedge is like new and the Reaper is just plain cool. Thanks guys and Happy New Years to all!
Outstanding!
Nicely done. Glad you got that to completion. Sometimes it's hard to wait but well worth it in the long run.
I'm amazed, and happy that Glen could salvage them for you. Im curious to how they hold their edge, and how flexible the edge has become.
I've cleaned up a few in the condition yours were in. A lot of work, when done by hand, only. They hold their edge, but you can see the bevel flex with just the weight of the blade laying on a fingernail. Takes a light touch, while shaving.
Glad they could be saved, great work, Glen.
They won't be daily shavers for me, but I have shaved with both with no problems.
