Go Walt! :bow
Thanks Lee. Everything just came together this weekend. Ten razors from eBay showed up in the mail Saturday morning. I picked up three more at an auction Saturday afternoon. And I found another at a flea market this morning. Since I photograph everything for my own records, it's an easy step to add them to the Wiki. But don't expect this every time another century mark comes around, it's too expensive! :)
Regards - Walt
And now we have some more Swedish razors in the SRDB. Thank you, Woork!
good oogly moogly
So as not to duplicate previous entries, does someone review new submissions before they are added?
I have three razors I believe are not in the database:
1. Robert Klaas Etched 11/16
2. W&B 11/16 "Special"
3. Geo. Wostenholm "Peerless"
Forgive the noob questions.
Hi, Oglethorpe,
Unless I missed something, they are indeed not yet in the SRDB: Category:Straight Razor Database - Straight Razor Place Wiki
As with any Wiki, they receive peer review after they are added.
Thanks,
Robin
Excellent. I'll get the camera out this week and add them.
Sirs,
I have added 3 razors to the database. Please forgive me if I botched an entry or two, since it took me a round to figure out I had to upload the image first.
Feel free to make any edits, since you are the experts :).
Looking good. Thanks a bunch, Oglethorpe.
Only, it's "last name, first name" :)
"Robert Klaas "Etched "AM"" 11/16" has been moved to "Klaas, Robert "Etched 'AM 11/16"
Thanks. Like I said.. I'm new to that whole deal :)
 I fear this W&B is an invalid entry, according to the rule: no reground or rescaled razors. The rule could be discussed, I don't know.. But even then this is a rescaled "Medium size hollow ground" (or a re-forged "Special" :D). Sorry..
New Wüsthof page.
Fair enough... That's why you guys make the calls!
Some info added here. How can I "hide" the external links?
Define "hide"? Do you mean something like this?Wikipedia:Cheatsheet - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaCode:[http://www.example.org Text to display]
Done! Thanks!
Put the Wilkinson in, and the unkown barbers point.
I will have another crack at the pictures when the sun comes out again!
Quite impressive growth really, there must be loads still to go in!
What's the count up to now?
The latest count can always be found here: Main Page - Straight Razor Place Wiki (upper right hand corner).
Just added some Heljestrands. I added them as 'C.V. Heljestrand', but they showed up as 'C V Heljestrand'. When I then realized that they should be listed under H as 'Heljestrand, C.V.', I corrected the form, but this didn't change their position in the list.
The same happens (or rather: doesn't happen) when the model is corrected in the forms. Also, I would like some convention in the model naming. Otherwise, we could have MK, M.K., M K, M [three crowns] K, M [tre kronor] K. Similarly: no 20, no20, No 20, No20, No. 20, No.20, Nr20, Nr 20, etc - you get the point.
As far as Heljestrands are concerned: I suggest 'No 20', so one capital, no dot and a space, and 'MK' with two capitals, no dots and no crowns, only and always to be used when the MK stamp is present on the reverse tang (as the same model number is sometimes used with and without MK for different razors).
Personally I think the dots are best left out of page titles
They need to be moved. The Wiki Crew will take care of that shortly.
The software isn't too smart with regards to this. We use autofill, but it's not perfect, obviously.
Ben?
Any road, thank you for taking the time to add those razors!
Thx!
O, this wasn't aimed at you wiki guys, or the system, but more of an appeal to users.
Ben? Ben? Which Ben? - anyway, I think I like him!
And thanks once again to all involved for making and maintaining this database! Excellent idea!
I added two more MABs to the MAB page. So two more razors, but the count doesn't change
You mean Mab Co. The "Hollow Ground" - Straight Razor Place Wiki The counter only counts articles, not pictures :)
Anyone else think it's weird to have custom razors in the general database? Like the Livi's for instance. Nice to see pics of em, but as they're one of a kind, it's not really relevant to me.
Separate section for customs? Anyone?
I don't think it's weird. It seems completely relevant to me. Especially with the older brands, everything was totally handmade and no two razors were alike so the livis fit right in (except that they are new, as are many of the Dovos in the database)
Not every livi is a custom is it? And some vintage razors were custom as well, as far as foreseeing problems with categorizing goes...
Chaps,
We're lagging. Still 42 to go to 500... Add your razors now.
I took pics of the couple of razors I think I told you about, I can send them to you if you want to put them in, I don't know when i'd get around to doing it myself. One is a Harris Goar with celluloid scales with a nude, the other is a Perfecto, the scales I've taken off to restore the blade but I placed them on it for the pic. (if my wife can find the camera!).
pm or email me if you want me to send them to you.

All hail hoglahoo:
hoglahoo@> BeBerlin: 29 to go to 500
 I just come back from navigating our SRDB. Amazing additions! Thanks, guys, thanks Hoglahoo!
Strange. It's been more than a month since we hit 400, and we not really getting anywhere on our way to 500.
