Thanked: 1903Your personal book on shaving, brought to you by The Wiki Crew
Chaps,
Countless hours of work went into this. Massive thanks to Ben (who did all of the coding) and Da Bomb (who, as always, installed the software, but also upgraded the Wiki software for this to work): Help:Books - Straight Razor Place Wiki.
In a nutshell: Mark one or more articles for PDF download, then create the PDF. I must admit that I am bit excited about this, as it opens us new opportunities to propagate SRP's collective knowledge. Here is an example, containing Lynn's "First Shave" and the "Beginner's Guide": click me!
This extension allows a user to organize personal selections of pages in a collection. Collections can beEnjoy!
- edited and structured using chapters
- persisted, loaded and shared
- rendered as PDF (see Extension:PDF_Writer)
- ordered as a printed book at PediaPress – Home
See the press release Wikis Go Printable for more information on this project.

Arrgghh, more new tricks for an old dog to learn.
Thanks Robin and the Wiki crew, this looks like a really handy resource once I figure it out. Maybe a neat way to do a honing log ?
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 1903Ah. The next project. Blogs. At this point in time, I think I'd set up a personal blog with a provider that allows for good PDF output. I would recommend supersized.org because they're truly free, and s9y is arguably the best blogging software on earth (and yes, I run a heavily modified version of Blosxom, dated November 2002...).

Thanked: 1903Just for the record, I've installed our own render server on one of my machines. Conversion to PDF and OpenOffice Writer should now be a lot faster.
Enjoy,
Robin
