Robin, hit the nail on the head, and he might agree with me when I say the BSD, Linux/ Unix forums/chats are a great example of that "ego" nothing like joining and forum as a new guy, and being treated with sarcasm and infantilism.Quote:
Seniority. No bloated egos, no chest thumping, no showing off. We are here because we enjoy the community, and share what we know, without any need for getting a pat on the back from users we later rip off by selling them overpriced items. We just give.
Lynn has created a great air around him, a place of learning, and helpfulness, and we all feel it and share it. It always starts from the top down. So thanks Lynn. What's great is everyone who joins appreciates this attitude of learning and acceptance and adds to it.
To me though personally, the real reason I come is for the characters I'll name a few
Lee, Glenn, Robin, Gugi, Dylan, Al, Max, Markavery etc...
These guys all make me laugh in the chat and in their posts atleast once a week, and that's what makes it worthwhile to me, chatting with a good group of guys who enjoy the same hobby as me.
I'm the guy who's rough around the edges, bull in a china shop so to speak. This is what I bring, that NY/NJ attitude that everyone loves...
Lee feel free to correct my diction or spelling..lol
Keep this place going for years to come.
Cheers
David
