When you log into the SRP bulletin board, the Web site writes a small text file (called a "cookie") onto your computer's hard drive. When you open a new tab or a new browser window to navigate to another post, the Web site -- since it is a computer program and not a human being -- must read the "cookie" file to determine whether you are a member with members' privileges and are logged into the site.
Without speculating on the reasons why, a Web site's computer program can fail to read the cookie file. On those occasions, it is as if the computer user had not logged in yet. It's happened to me when navigating SRP posts also, but not in the last couple of weeks.
When it does happen to me, the first thing I do is hit the Ctrl and R keys <ctrl> <r> to refresh the browser window. That forces the SRP Web site's computer program to attempt to read the cookie file again. Sometimes that fixes the problem. If it doesn't then I just go ahead and login again. And if the problem continues to recur, then I close my browser & other running programs and reboot my computer. That usually seems to fix the problem for me. But . . . YMMV.</r></ctrl>
