Does anyone else experience login problems?
Hello,
For the past week or so, I have noticed that everytime I logon and navigate to a different tab to post a thread or something, I have to login again ...site says that I don't have priviledges!!! Anyone else experience this issue?
Is this a site problem or am I doing something wrong??? Comments will be appreciated.
Thanks,
-Robert

No, Robert, you're not doing anything wrong.
When you log into the SRP bulletin board, the Web site writes a small text file (called a "cookie") onto your computer's hard drive. When you open a new tab or a new browser window to navigate to another post, the Web site -- since it is a computer program and not a human being -- must read the "cookie" file to determine whether you are a member with members' privileges and are logged into the site.
Without speculating on the reasons why, a Web site's computer program can fail to read the cookie file. On those occasions, it is as if the computer user had not logged in yet. It's happened to me when navigating SRP posts also, but not in the last couple of weeks.
When it does happen to me, the first thing I do is hit the Ctrl and R keysto refresh the browser window. That forces the SRP Web site's computer program to attempt to read the cookie file again. Sometimes that fixes the problem. If it doesn't then I just go ahead and login again. And if the problem continues to recur, then I close my browser & other running programs and reboot my computer. That usually seems to fix the problem for me. But . . . YMMV.

When you log in are you checking the box that says,"remember me " ?
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 96It happens to me when I log in on the forum page, if I go to post a reply and then log in, it will remember me. Atleast that is my expereince, but it probably has something to do with my computers settings too.

Hi Robin,
Aside from Xmarks, I don't have anything else on...I have since enabled and disabled Xmarks to see what happens. In both occasions now, it seems to behave a bit more. The only difference was that I restarted the browser...Bizarre!! I didn't have this problem at most of April. I will also restart the Mac and see what happens then
