About half an hour ago, maybe more, I refreshed the page and found that a few of my posts had disappeared. Not only that, but my post count went down too. It seems like some other member's posts were deleted as well. Not sure why this happened, I assume it was a glitch of some sort as my posts were not offensive in any way.
Did anyone else notice this at all?
I was having issues earlier tonight. Kept logging me off. THought I posted bit it never showed up. WOuldn't attach pics....
Ya, i noticed that too...so i reposted. I hope I don't look like an idiot posting similar comments in the same thread if it fixes itself...lol.
Yup, that sounds familiar. I found myself logged out as well, and when I logged back in my posts disappeared.
One thread in particular comes to mind, the recent "shaving in the 1800's" thread. DrMoss_ca had just posted before I did; his post (which I thought was insightful) also disappeared, and now that thread is far down the forum list.

Said i was suspended and a few of my questions are also missing...
Server migration is in progress, and the forums will (the devs tell me) be a bit glitchy until all the DNS servers are aware of the new IP. Should be done something like 1200hrs GMT, I think.
I am not a dev, and can not vouch for the accuracy of any of this info. :)
Perhaps a sticky on the main page explaining the potential problems would be helpful... :)

The problem was that for a bit both the old and the new server were running, and the update to the DNS records takes time to propagate throughout the DNS servers across the world.
So, some posts have ended back to the old server.Since it's too much hassle to merge them with the new ones (duplication of post IDs and such things), I think we'll just consider them 'lost'.
Shouldn't be a problem anymore as the old server is beered again (well it's been for few hours now).

The good news is that probably 80% or better have transitioned.
yeah, I saw one in italy, one in australia, one in atlanta, LA.... they should get all uptodate by the end of the day though.
Yeah. I didn't realize that it picks different random servers each time it runs... I got as many as four at a time that hadn't updated.
I'm sure they all will be in the morning. I just switched hosts on a site a few days ago, and it only took about 3 hours for them all to point to the new one IIRC.
