Guys, let's not pile up on the mods over this. They're trying to make the site more readable and easier to navigate for all of us. Please, let's give them the chance to have a fair crack at it.
That is all good unless you don't like Bud Light. Why not serve both?
I do not bitch because it is not important to me. I did not say that. Excuse me, but that is a lame reasoin.
I will take you to task on the legality of using real names. There is no legal reason to do so.
What else do we have left?
Your not a kiss ass, you make a very important point. Now, back to the original point. What was the reason for the removal of the sig lines? Does someone care to provide a valid reason? I'm interested to know but I don't think I'll be getting an answer anytime soon.
If you scroll back a page or several, Bruno did exactly that. It comes down to reducing the amount of unnecessary page scrolling we need to do to get through each page.
While a witty one line sig does no harm people frequently won't stick to that and insist on using large graphics and multi line quotes that add nothing to the conversation but force readers to scroll past fat sigs to get to the actual conversation.
Yet there is 2 inches of blank space in your post. Mine also. I could not find any post that indicates it is a space issue. I have found one that indicates that it is not a space issue.
If I recall from one of Jimmy's responses, the decision to remove the sig lines was a consensus between the moderators, developers, and administration of SRP as a whole, not just one person. One person delivered the news...don't kill the messenger. As "members" of this forum, we are not always privy to the behind the scenes information on what decisions are made and for what reasons. If you interested in the "Why" then you may want to look into what is required to become a moderator on the forum and then you may be in the know. Once again to quote Bruno, "It's just a sig line."
Post #9 in this thread made it fairly clear, to me at least, that adding clutter to the page was the issue being addressed. Some one asked if this was a storage issue, and the answer to that was no. Then there was a reference to the 50% decrease in space when scrolling in threads after the new policy (see post 18). It almost takes willful disregard for the explanations given to not see that point.
