Thanked: 1587Default Opening Behaviour of Search in Quick Reply
I often get half way (or further) through a reply and realise I need to do a search of the forum for something. If I am unmindful, when I enter my search terms and hit enter the search opens in the same browser tab as I am currently in and I lose what I have written (hitting the "back" button takes me back to the thread, but the quick reply box with my typing in it is gone). Often I then just do not bother rewriting and the world loses yet another profound and insightful post.
I haven't tested this with the "go advanced" interface, but I did just test it here at the "post new thread" interface and it seems when I hit the "back" button from the search I do recover the editor with text intact.
Anyway, what I was wondering was, could the marvellous and ridiculously clever devs perhaps set it up so that the default behaviour of the search was to open with results in a new tab? Just a thought.
