    Default Is There An Option?

Hey folks. Sorry I haven't been posting. I've got a lot going on. The FIL is in and out of hospital repeatedly, wind blew a tree into the shed/workshop, children are competing in juggling tournaments, and I'm trying to realign my business focus and strategies to draw a profit.

Added to this I STILL havent finished a razor I promised to send to a member in the netherlands plus my brother in law and a neighbor want me to make them a starter kit. I feel like a chicken with it's head freshly chopped. .

Anyways, to my question. I looked on the user cp and didn't find it but figured I'd ask regardless:

Is there an option where I can receive emails of posts even when I'm not subscribed to the thread? This would help me as I check my email religiously, excepting when I'm all day at hospital with the FIL.

I've been responding periodically to threads from yahoo site but not from here as I don't receive emails to unsubscribed threads from here.

Once I finish moving my 'razor bench' into the computer room and installing visqueen barriers to keep the dust particles off the pc's I'll finish this razor and post pics. I promise. More importantly I'll send it out so I can have completed my promise (hopefully not too late).

Thanks to any who can direct me on how to get ALL posts from here in email.

    Glen F

Outside of email, the best thing to do would be visit and hit the "new posts" link.

As for everything else, I hope it calms down a bit for you. Most of all, best wishes health wise to the family.

    Hi Glen,

AFAIK there is no specific option to do what you asked. You might try configuring your usercp to choose instant, daily, etc. email for classical subscriptions AND then visit each forum you want to get email from and in the "Forum Tools" pulldown click the "subscribe to forum". That might give you the result you want. If you try it, let us know if it works.

You might also consider getting the posts via an RSS feed.

I configured email notifications in the CP for daily and then subscribed to 3 forums (general, newbies corner, and restoration) for testing. One thing to note is I had to select an email notification option on each subscription after subscribing to the forum.

I'll post how it works in here. If it doesn't do well I'll check into the RSS feed. Thanks again.

Up at the top, there is a thing called "Thread Tools"(next to search this thread and rate this thread). Click on it and a drop down menu appears. Then you can click on "subscribe to this thread". I believe that will do what you are looking for.

Juggling is cool! So is riding unicycles. Do your kids do that cup stacking thing too? If any of you have never seen kids stack cups you have got to check it out.

Ok, the subscribing to the FORUM versus the thread and choosing the daily email option within the FORUM subscription process does give a single email for each forum with a list of both new threads and updated threads. This happens late in the evening u.s. eastern time (GMT -5hrs).

It' doesn't give a good "peak" at the individual thread but it does give you the thread title and a link to go to it. This is cool especially if you're reading a thread but haven't had anything to contribute yet.

It's not a best case scenario but it's a great help.

Thanks again to all the responses and best wishes.

PS. We enjoy watching the cup stacking but juggling, ball spinning, yoyo's, professional tops, poi, and unicycles are our gigs. And music, we're all musicians and jugglers to one degree or another and often have 1 or more playing while others perform. It's a family thing. The children do the competing though. I like performing but not competing.
