Soaps on Etsy.

This Etsy site was brought up in another thread so I went and looked. Wow all kinds of different stuff. For those with SAD I am sorry but you may need another shelf. :<0)
I found this but the ingredients don't look to appealing . It sure sounds manly man though.

I bought the blacksmith soap and it smells great ! I also got 1 called Sheriff. I am not sure which one I like best because they both appeal to my nose. The Blacksmith scent is light during and after use so there is no fighting with your after shave later. I have only used it once but here is what I found. The puck if you can call it that was 1.5 ounces with a chunk and some crumbs when I got it. No big deal @ 3 bucks. I have gotten a whole lot less for more in sample packs. I put some water on it like I usually do while the tap water starts running hot. I use a black badger brush and it loaded up quickly. and showed instant signs of lather. When I started brushing my face it lathered right up. I didn't get it as thick as say Mama bear's and it faded before I got to the other side. Now this is my first venture into the soap world without a recommendation on how to use it. It may take me a few times to get the water content right and so not the fault of the soap at all. It was nice and smooth and after 3 passes I wanted to try more experimenting but the whiskers were all gone. I might add that I was test driving a big W&B I just restored so I had a couple of things going at once. I also remembered after I finished shaving that I forgot to strop the blade after honing. I have to give this soap some credit for saving my face. I will try again in the near future after I get this big ole blade under control. :<0)

Ingredients : pure saponified oils of olive, soy beans, coconut, castor. shea butter, water, fragrance,activated charcoal, betonite clay.

All said I think I am going to love this soap if I can get the lather to last a little longer. Then again you know how it is with a new razor, I may have just taken to long trying to figure out the angle of the dangle.

You know, I'm curious if the olive oil isn't what caused the lather to fade before you got to the other side of your face. All the reading on soap making I've been doing recently says that olive oil in soaps provides little or deflating lather, and has been recommended to keep out of shave soaps.

As to soaps on Etsy, I'm curious to try several from different makers. My wallet (at least according to SWMBO) and lack of space are two factors I'm trying to overcome...
